The complimentary advertising appears in ConnecTV’s Social TV Timeline, enabling viewers to simply tap to activate several different functions from “buy now” to engaging in special promotions. For example, if an ad for “Skyfall 007” were to appear on TV, the viewer would instantly see an ad on ConnecTV showing where the movie is playing in the viewer’s neighborhood – and offer an opportunity to buy the ticket right then, right there.
Utilizing a deep broad natural language database and proprietary enabling technology, ConnecTV syncs to keywords on television that trigger a companion marketing experience on your second screen within the ConnecTV application. TVwords allows advertisers to purchase key terms and anytime that specific name or term is spoken on television, a companion ad appears on the viewer’s smartphone, tablet or computer running the ConnecTV application. For example, this feature would allow American Express to display an ad whenever its comedic spokesman Aziz Ansari appears in his recurring role on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation. (Or a Skyfall ad would appear on ConnecTV if Daniel Craig appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show).
